August/ Early September

Sydney made this friendship bracelet, and she was so proud of it!

Jenna is notorious for playing and taking contraband items into her room when she is supposed to be going to bed.  One morning I found this- Anna sleeping on Bevo, covered up with a Kleenex.  Nice.

We were able to go to San Angelo to celebrate Mamma's 96th birthday!  This is the kids great great grandmother.

Oh you know, just mowing with my pink mower eating a popsicle.

The girls and I went to paint ceramics for the first time.  They had fun and are quite proud of their masterpieces now.

While we did that, the boys hung out- a little putting at Academy.

The girls were trying to do cartwheels, so Wyatt jumped out of the Jeep to try.

Sydney's first day of Kindergarten!  She was so excited and proud to be going to school.  No tears from any of us at dropoff, and she has really enjoyed the first few weeks.

Watching Sydney walk up to the school after I started dropping her off rather than walking her in.  Big girl!!!

We had high hopes of Jenna outgrowing her peanut allergy this year based on the results of last year's tests.  However, that is not the case, which was a huge disappointment.  Still allergic and need to avoid all peanuts.  Bummer.

A visit from Neeme!  She went to Grandparents Day breakfast with Jenna and Wyatt and lunch with Sydney.  They were all so excited to have her here.

Lunch at Hula Hut!  One of my favorites.  Wyatt loved looking at the boats.

These pictures look cute and sweet, but reality was the kids were totally crazy wrestling in the grass right before bedtime.  At least I got some cute pictures out of it.

Happy Birthday, BJ!  The kids picked out golf balls and a football, because he likes to watch football, of course.  Haha!!  We also got him Lucky Charms for the family birthday breakfast.  The weekend before when I was taking the kids shopping, I asked if they could keep a secret all week.  Sydney said yes, and Jenna just said no.  At least she is honest!  Then she totally forgot what we got, so the secret was kept.

Concan

In July, we spent a long weekend at some cabins on the Frio River (near Concan) with our friends, the Walkers.  We had the best time!  

A week before we left, BJ and I talked about renting a golf cart while we were there to get around the cabin area.  Within a few days, BJ had bought one off of Craigslist, fixed it up, and painted it gold to match my car.  Then he sold it for a profit when we got home- a typical BJ move!  We definitely needed the golf cart while we were there, and the kids loved it.

One of the kids' favorite parts- Pop Tarts!!!  They were ridiculously excited about this.

There was a great swimming hole, and we spent hours hanging out there.  No pictures of the river though!

Even the golf cart can't cure the post nap grumpiness.

Sydney's first crush- on Easton!  She had the best time dancing with him.

BJ and Beau popped the hood on their Jeep to take a look, and Wyatt came running over!

Our cabin had two brooms in it!  Score.  Wyatt spent a lot of time sweeping on the porch.  Also pretending to be a witch riding the broom.  

Jenna loves Wyatt too much sometimes.

All the kids were so good and had a great time together.

And we really enjoyed catching up!

Of course Sydney offered to share her chair with Easton.  And saved him some glow bracelets.  

Wyatt wouldn't smile, so I said "dump truck" and got this smile.

So I tried it again- refusing to smile...

"Dump truck!"  Success!!  Ha.

We spent a lot of time hanging out on the screen porch in our cabin.  So nice to enjoy a few slow days together!
