Welcome Wyatt

Wyatt Lee finally arrived at 6:51am on December 27, at 7 lbs 3 oz and 19.25 inches long.  He defied the third baby stats by being late and smaller than both of the girls!  He is already keeping us on our toes.  I was so sure that he would arrive before his Christmas Day due date since Jenna was a week early, so the last few days were pretty long.  We were set to induce the morning of December 27, and then I went into labor the night before.  My platelets were high enough to get an epidural, thank goodness, although I didn't get it until about 8 cm.  Wyatt's delivery was a bit dramatic as his heart rate kept dropping.  The last 45 min were pretty tense for BJ and me as we knew it wasn't going smoothly but weren't sure how worried we should be, and we were so happy when he came into the world screaming.

Sydney and Jenna adore their baby brother.  We are settling into our life as a family of five!  Although Sydney and Jenna think next time we should have a baby sister, this is definitely our last baby. We are trying to enjoy every bit of these sweet baby days, as I know he will grow up quickly.

Many pictures below!!!

The girls were very excited to visit us in the hospital, and they asked what EVERYTHING was in the hospital room.

Jenna wasn't really interested in the family picture!

Baby's first ipod?!?!  This is the newborn hearing test, which he passed.

Ready to go home!

Thank you to my mom for staying for a couple of weeks to help us out!  Wyatt did not sleep much at night for the first week, and she held him every day so that I could take a nap.

We got ready to let Wyatt try out the swing a couple of days after he came home, and it was broken.  The motor wasn't working- not good.  Luckily we picked one up from Craigslist the next day, and Wyatt is now happily napping in the swing (when he feels like it!).

Still reading Knuffle Bunny books multiple times per day...

Jenna is fixing things with the tool set she got for Christmas
